Assignment:
MainStream GS was engaged to provide Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts (LSS MBB) to support the U.S. Army's Boots-on-the-Ground (BOG) effort to improve the accountability to Commanders in their tracking of soldiers, sailors, and airman in theater.
Actions:
MainStream GS' LSS MBBs were integrated with information technology solutions to apply improved data and intelligence to field Commanders. A pilot project was initiated to pull the correct data from stove-piped systems and integrate with on-site scanners to capture the correct data on each soldier’s location and future planned deployments in theater so that tracking could be improved.
Results:
The BOG improvement pilot was a success as the scanning solution improved accountability of deployed personnel by more than 15% and has to led wider scale pilots of the solution and improvements are continuing.
