Assignment:
MainStream GS was engaged to provide Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts (LSS MBB) to support warfighters and senior military leaders in Kuwait and Afghanistan by streamlining processes to increase aircraft availability.
Actions:
MainStream GS' LSS MBBs organized a LSS DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) project to address the aircraft availibility issue. At each stage of the DMAIC project there was close coordination with field Commanders. The LSS DMAIC project identified areas of improvement including the management of slot times route selection. Improvements were identified, tested and adopted.
Results:
By implementing processes and procedures to review route selection and slot times in accordance with real time conditions on the ground, aircraft utilization increased by 17%.
