Project: Establishment of a Pilot Program for Regional Enterprise Propulsion Propeller System Repair
Assignment:
AMC had over 50 shops for propulsion propeller system MRO each producing varying levels of quality and lead times. AMC leadership desired a shift from segregated shops to regional repair centers in order to provide consistent MRO of propulsion propeller system. MainStream GS was engaged by AMC at the Command level to plan and implement a pilot program for Regional Enterprise Propulsion Propeller System Repair.
Actions:
MainStream GS led a cross-functional team in developing a Current State Value Stream Map (VSM) and identifying opportunities for waste elimination, improved flow, and quality resolution. We facilitated the creation of a Future State VSM, and developed transformation and implementation plans. We facilitated the AMC team in executing the projects and events required to implement the Future State VSM. This resulted in the development of new standardized work that was to become the standard for the Regional Enterprise Propulsion Propeller System Repair Centers.
