Project Portfolio Management
Mainstream GS’ Project Portfolio Management program enables Program Management Offices (PMOs) to better manage a collection of related programs and/or projects. Our approach to Project Portfolio Management follows a schedule and resource control philosophy which proposes that your organization is a ‘value chain’ of interdependent links (departments, resources, functions). Some of the interdependent links within your organization may have potential for greater portfolio performance but the full ‘value’ is currently not being realized because of a weak link that is an external or internal bottleneck (constraint). Your organization may have linkages in place that need to be strengthened, or linkages that may need to be created to maximize most effective flow of capital, labor, and material resources.
MainStream GS’ Project Portfolio Management utilizes Value Stream Analysis (VSA) to assess your existing portfolio and identify resource constraints. In addition, focus is placed on strategic alignment and prioritization based on difficulty/impact, creation of flow, and waste elimination. Our Program Management team will work hand-in-hand with your PMO to create a Gap Action Report addressing identified constraints. As a part of this program, an Earned Value Metric exercise will be conducted and an Integration Report for your enterprise risk management organization will be created.
Our Project Portfolio Management program will allow your PMO team to more effectively manage your organization’s portfolio of programs and projects as well as increase its project delivery capability.
